Light Powder Charge

Light Powder Charge

The Auto Disk dispenses powder using a system called Volume Metered Density (VMD). This system is based on the number of cubic centimeters
that are required to hold a powder charge of a particular grain weight. The load data we use is reprinted with the permission of the powder manufacturers. The powder manufacturers establish the start grains for a particular load. Using a formula, Lee assigns a disk cavity that comes closest to that grain weight without going over that start grain weight. So often the actual amount dispensed will be slightly less than the published data. This has little effect on the velocity or accuracy of the finished cartridge. That is why you see this variation.
